Quilt Restorations by JoDee

Let me take your heirloom quilt and help preserve it for the next generation, with repairs, evaluations and Vintage textile dating.   Perhaps you have clothing from your parents, child or grandparents even a wedding dress or tee shirts you would like made into a MEMORY QUILT.

Repair, Restoration or Conservation                                                   

Repairing a quilt is simply patching it to stop further damage.
Restoration is returning your quilt to a usable state. It may still be fragile and should be treated with respect for its age. It is restored with old or reproduction fabrics from the era in which it was made.
Conservation will preserve the quilt as it is, stabilizing the damage but nothing is done that can’t be reversed. Conservation is usually reserved for quilts with historical significance, such as one that was made by a President’s wife and will hang in a museum.

How this works

• after initial contact we make an appointment to view your quilt in person or on skype
• after viewing the quilt and damages I get back to you within a week
• I asses the damages and give you 2 or 3 different options with estimates about your quilts restoration or repairs.
• we discuss which option you prefer and I receive 1/3 of the estimate to purchase necessary materials to start.
• second 1/3 of price is due when restoration is half-way completed (I will send you a photo update)
• final payment is due upon completion of the restoration.

You will know have a beautiful quilt to enjoy, remember and pass on.  It will be a delightful process for all of us.

• I supply all materials for your quilt restoration, fabric, batting and thread

Commissions
Over the years JoDee has made numerous commissioned quilts to unique client specifications. All commissions:
•    Are one-of-a-kind and individually hand crafted by JoDee;
•    Are made to clients theme, color and size specifications;
•    Come ready to install with hanging sleeve;
•    Are constructed in approximately eight weeks time; and
•    Are priced starting at $300 according to size and difficulty of design.
